at the kids' school, they offer positive parenting classes. i'd like to go but it means a babysitter yet again. still - i hate the thought of missing out on a good thing so the compromise was to buy a book! easy. well. whatever i may think of the book in general, one thing was great fun. the author suggests you write a list of things your children are good at. i decided to ask the children to help me write this list. fan-tas-tic. they told me they were good at eating up their food really quickly, at singing 'mama mia', at swimming, you name it they're good at it. a list about 6 times as long as i could have come up with on my own.
next thing i know, we're eating supper. spinach. youngest takes for-bl**dy-ever. so with my angelic smile, eyebrows under my hairline, i say 'but you're so good at eating really quickly - it's on the list!'
ha! the list has by now been enlarged, framed & features prominently on the wall.
children even more angelic than they were already!
