garlic butter grows in a jar

garlic butter (kruidenboter) is another one of those things that when i lived at home i would just grab it from the shelves in the supermarket and here in england it simply is not available. developing country? fear of garlic? dunno.

it has taken 13 years for me to realise that actually, it does not necessarily grow in a jar. i had bought the most gorgeous fillet steak and was incredibly frustrated with the fact that, yet again, i couldn't have (or so i thought) garlic butter with it.

give that girl a phd.

not sure what triggered it, but suddenly i realised that actually......................... i have a garden full of herbs and garlic, and i always store a pile of butter in the freezer. doh!!!! wish i'd had this brainwave 12 years ago!

garlic butter made with the obvious - plus a big bunch of parsley (peterselie), chives (bieslook), dill, and chervil (kervel, ook nergens te krijgen hierzo) - all from my own garden! with a bit of lemon juice & salt. and youngest helped me blitz & stir it all. best garlic butter i've ever had. good thing i have the bed to myself tonight Smiley
